First to Review
our Coney Island was killed long ago.... but a wonderful place, and I think this place deserves it's own page, because us natives have heard story after story of granparent's first kisses, or adolescent mischief. I know the Dutch Windmill is a vestige of this amusement park, but very few people know it existed.
It is a wonderful cultural aspect of SF that is long gone... but everytime I stand there I imagine the carnival games, the Model A's carrying stuffed animals won for prim and proper ladies.
Of course, this was SF, and it was the 20's. Prim and proper might have fallen away to badass good time fun.
Great article on the new one opening!

HOORAY!
This cheese has constantly changed me.... it is always part of celebration, excitement, good times, and good friends. And wine... lots and lots of wine.
Thanks for being there. Now I just need subsidy checks to be able to afford my habit.
Me likey much.

3 hosts/managers.... all ignored us. Looked at us, expectantly, yet knowing we had no rez and therefore dutifully ignoring us as if to chide our ignorance.
We went in on a lark.. 3 of us... and hoped to be recognized.
By the time the gent looked at us, and we asked "if there might be a chance or possibility of a table or bar for 3", he smiled condescendingly and said of course... about 9:30. This was 6:45.
Come on man, don't be a dick.

Okay okay... I know. I will rate it properly when I eat there... but how in the hell is there no mention that this stares into a popeye's chicken? I mean.. wow. I originally did not expand on this, but I ruffled someone's feathers and am ALL about self censorship... or elucidation. I mean...
Across from a Popeye's??? Won't the foodies have a field day with this? The town IS about development, and it is always up and coming... but I never compare the development of the city with the steadfast ego and pretensiousness of the fickle elite. I assume that Divisadero, which houses a couple of the finest places in all of SF.. like Eddie's and the Independent... is not couture enough for the foodies, and therefore will eventually start stomping their feet about parking and having to deal with the mixed crowds. I am just saying... not be cynical... but cmon. That is all I am saying. Locals rule and all.. but as the place develops it could end up like the Marina. Not that it is bad at all. Just like it. that is all. Dig? Anyhoo......
SO....
Reviewers are going ape shit.. coming out of retirement to review it.
Everyone is all aghast at the new hip thing... a restaurant with the hubris to create a brand new part of town .. "Northern Panhandle", etc.
And the Chow guy is one of my faves.. real groovy comfort food. And albeit I have not eaten there... and albeit that I definitely WILL...
I am surprised and bedazzled by the fortitude and moxy of an owner to build an upscale place that is lit by the holy glow of popeyes?
just doesn't make sense to me. cannot wait to try it tho. I guess that makes this review moot.
But still... popeyes?
----------
Is that at all better guys?
Cheapest price I had ever seen on All Clad in my entire life. Happy to walk away without wine and sporting two new skillets.
Cheers!
Whatever the case, it is so close to so many places, and I am sure I will end up here time and time again with a baguette, brick of cheese, and $20 for a bottle of their Chardonnay.
It is inevitable, and inevitably is rare in this world. Four Stars surprisingly lovely vineyard. Well done!

I REALLY want to give two stars, but I simply can't. Sure Cavallo Point and Inn Above Tide are obvious as better choices... Cavallo has been open for a month and has better service, and albeit the InnATide rates are higher it is simply put, SOLID!
I dunno... in that spot you could open a cardboard box with a stick holding it up and still trap tourists. Doesn't mean it's a good place to get caught.
3 stars because Marin is a different place than the city. Otherwise, this would be getting cracked down on. Actually, I looked at the yelp reviewing star rating thingy... "meh. I've experienced better" was my inner monologue. Okay two it is.
